| Fair Share ScheduleFair Share Obligation 2008-2009 Marching BandDear Band Students and Parents: As treasurers of the Band Boosters, we want to review with each of you the “fair share obligation” for the upcoming marching band season. A great deal of effort and thought went into preparing the budget and coming up with creative ways to ease the financial burden while fulfilling the requirements of the fair share. Each marching band student is assessed two types of commitments: 1) a financial commitment of $975, and 2) a service commitment of 6 shifts per family (equal to $150). By participating in 6 shifts at any of our four major venues (Durham Bulls, RBC Center, State Fair Parking, Belk Box Stand) a family not only completes the service requirement but also reduces the $975 financial commitment down to at least $825. The remainder of the financial commitment can be completed by working additional shifts at the four major venues or by participating in other fundraising opportunities such as fruit/nut sales, entertainment book sales, scrip and grocery store coupons. A few things to keep in mind:
Your account will initially be charged the full amount ($975) and the service commitment ($150) to help you plan for payment options and fundraiser opportunities, but the amounts you’ll need to pay are dependent upon your band account balance on the dates payments are due. No student is turned away from participating in marching band because of financial hardship. There are several options available based on your family’s situation. Please complete the financial aid form for consideration by Friday, June 6. Please contact John Bryant or Duane MacEntee for further information. Make checks payable to ADHS Band Boosters.
