Chaperone Information

The ADHS Band Boosters have an assigned chaperone system to alleviate confusion about responsibilities during games, competitions, and parades.

For home games, chaperones march down to the stadium from the school along with the band for safety. They also get the water coolers and cups ready and on the bus or trailer to be taken down to the field. They help with water breaks and stay with the band throughout the event in case the students need assistance.

For competitions, chaperones need to arrive at the competition site at the same time as the band and assist with the logistics of getting 120+ students to a changing area, practice area, warmup area, and any other issues that arise. There will be a first aid chaperone with the competition. Once again, the chaperones stay with the band throughout the entire event.

Due to the large number of students in the band, there is extremely limited seating on the buses. For this reason, 2-4 chaperones will be assigned to ride the buses and other chaperones may wish to carpool, following the buses. Chaperones need to arrive at the competition site at the same time as the band since there is much to do as soon as we get to the location.

The band receives a limited number of passes to events. Our instructors, the pit crew and field crew, as well as assigned chaperones will be given passes if they are available. Entrance fees for competitions are usually $5 or so. Plan on purchasing a ticket, keeping in mind your purchase is supporting another band program.
